As you may have noticed in your dashboards, the time for the next major WordPress release is upon us. WordPress 2.5 is due out very shortly, and their’s a sneak peak available!
The new release isn’t just a minor update of functionality. No, instead it is a complete strip down of the user interface. The builders at WP rebuilt the interface from the ground up focusing on what publishers want most.
The new dashboard is completely different (aka the main page when you log in). It features the content and information you really want to know most about. Pictured below. You can even customize the way you want the dashboard to display.
Other features include: multi-file upload, built-in galleries, one-click plugin upgrades, tag management, built-in Gravatars, full text feeds, and faster load times…just to name a few.
The navigation has been made simpler too.
The new Write and Manage pages are sexier too. It makes the simple act of publishing a new post even easier. The functions that are most important to getting your work done are easily accessible, and right where you can see them.
In short, it’s a FRESH upgrade. Clean lines, easy navigation, and practical features. Looking forward to it.
